I had a Telezapper for many years and it finally died without my knowing. Then the calls started again. I'm on all the "do not call" lists. But that does not apply to political or "charity" calls. What a pain in the A**! When I plugged in the new one they virtually stopped. Get one!

TeleZapper is a small device that attaches directly to a consumer's telephone line to reduce the number of computer-dialed telemarketing calls. The TeleZapper is also battery powered and boasts a sleeker, trimmer design. It now serves as the connecting piece between the phone and phone jack and comes equipped with a battery that has a seven-year life, which eliminates the need for an AC adaptor and frees up an extra electrical outlet in your home. It can also be programmed to emit from one (Basic Privacy) to three tones (Advanced Privacy), providing added protection against unwanted calls. The TeleZapper is ideal for protecting home businesses and new homeowners. New phone numbers typically are the first numbers to make it onto telemarketing lists. The TeleZapper is easy to install. Just plug it into your phone and phone jack to cover all extensions and answering machines connected to that line. It works with answering machines to "Zap" telemarketers when you're not around to answer the phone. It doesn't work 100% of the time. Some unwanted calls still get through. When my friends call, they say that the beeping noise is annoying. I guess I'll try the National Do Not Call Registry again.

 "It REALLY Works!" 2009-08-05
By Mark Ingrum (Dallas, TX)
We were getting dozens of telemarting calls everyday. This stops them by sending a disconnect signal to tell their computer phone dialing system your number is not there. They go on to the next one!

You hook it up inline on a regular phone, or VOIP, and it makes a "signal" every time someone calls. It also makes the same "signal" when you pick up the phone. That can catch you by surprise. Sometimes, friends call and ask whaat the noise was but that is all it sounds like.

I just got a call as I was reviewing this...the telemarketers call, they get the tone and hang up! No more wasted time with them. Even if you pick by accident, you still get the "signal" so if you thought it was someone else their computer will disconnect instead of putting you through to a rep b/c it heard the tone first!

Very good product. Ours had a dead batttery, no big deal just went to Wal Mart.Get them before they run out! We do debt settlement and short sales and could not live without this!!! The banks just drive you nuts!! If you would like to hear what it sounds like dial 469-424-2066 and check it. If you need a short sale or debt settlement your dialing the right number anyway!

Thanks!

you'll be glad you did.

my Telezapper arrived today. lots of talk on here about them not working.

it's true, and it's about the battery. this is how you install a fresh one:

remove the two small screws in the bottom of the unit.

remove the casing, and make sure you're replacing with a CR 2032 battery.

when you peek inside (and that's all there's room to do)you'll see the round battery sitting in a small housing unit. one side of that unit has braces, and the other side is open.

use a long thin object and push the battery out through the open side of the housing unit.

slide the new battery back inside the housing, with the writing on the new battery face down.

you should be all set.

like i said, my unit just came today, but i have high hopes now of getting my Sundays back.

"Telezapper, just a noise maker, save your money." 2009-05-01
By P. Johnson (Moorpark, Ca.)
They should take this item off the market. It doesn't do anything but make a tone when you pick up your phone. The unit came dead on arrival. I called the support number for the manufacturer. I told him that it didn't make any tones as described in the manual. He was very unresponsive and said if telemarketers weren't calling it must be working. End of conversation. Well the calls kept coming in. I called again and spoke to someone else. It was determined that it indeed arrived DOA. No offer was made to send it back only to go to the dealer with it. I opened it up and tested the battery. Only 2 volts from the required 3 volts. Off I go to put in another 6 dollars for a battery. OK, now I get the tone. Calls keep coming in, the thing is a dust collector.

Maybe people will read this and save money and frustration.

This device is simple to hook up but the technology is outdated. Anonymous calls are NOT blocked out and telemarketers have new dialing technology.

It does emit a series of tones when an an unidentified call comes in but has little effect.

"Doesn't work with all phone models" 2008-06-02
By DXS (USA)
I have owned two different Telezappers and have been pleased with them. The larger model uses an electric cord. The smaller, slender model (the picture will fool you, it's really small...) uses a CR2030 battery. Also, the larger model (the one with the cord) emits only the first tone of the SIT. The smaller model (the one with the battery) gives you a choice of either the first tone of the SIT or the entire 3 note sequence, which is more effective. I previously used both models on a Panasonic Phone/Fax/Copier model KX-FPC95. This phone set had a cordless phone integrated on a fax/copier. No problems, worked great. I recently purchased a Panasonic Phone/Fax/Copier model KX-FG6550 and the Telezapper does not work with this phone set. The telezapper "tone" is delayed to the point where it is ineffective. This phone set has a "base unit" with copy and fax, and the phone is a separate unit, plugged into an electrical outlet, operating on a "wireless" from the base. If you purchase phones of different brands, but similar to this type unit, it may not work well with the Telezapper. I think it has to do with the cordless phone not being integrated with the base unit. I tried to email Royal Appliances about this, but when I used their web site, I got "page not found."

A year or two ago we decided our Telezapper ( which had served us well) was dead and threw it away, planning to repalce it. When I couldn't find one at Radio Shack, I kind of forgot about it. We have been bothered lately by a lot of telemarketers so I resumed shopping. Looking at the info on your site makes me believe they are no longer effective. The most recent comment was posted in 2003! Anyone have any newer information? There is no point in spending even a small amount of money and taking up space on my desk for something that no longer has a purpose.
